Position - Sr Economist
Experience - 10 - 15 years
Location - Mumbai / New Delhi
Client - A NBFC
Will report to the Chief Economist.
Must-Have :
- Graduation/Postgraduate in Economics/Statistics
- Econometrics experience is a must.
- Experience in research & analysis of the Indian Economy
- This economist will join the in-house Economic Research team and will report directly to Chief Economist.
- The successful candidate will assist in developing forward-looking analytical economic frameworks with an emphasis on business cycle/trends and the resulting implications for credit quality.
- She/he is expected to help augment the company's existing process underpinning credit decisions including through working on enhancing existing and developing new value-added analytical frameworks.
Brief Responsibilities :
- Assess the prospects of the Indian economy with emphasis on analyzing the outlook for credit quality and credit performance across the economy
- Assist team lead in idea generation and gleaning insights from macro and sectoral data to provide actionable insights to stakeholders and business heads
- Assist team lead as well as work on assigned topics/projects independently to develop forwarding looking analysis of the sectors in which our client currently extends credit (e.g. corporate, housing, select consumer areas)
- To be able to take ownership of driving and energizing the report writing process by contributing towards the distinction of anomalies from trends and articulation of key message in a succinct and lucid form
- Timely and accurate delivery of all assigned tasks/projects jointly with team or where applicable independently
- To collect, process, maintain and analyze macro-economic data using reasoning, qualitative assessment and quantitative techniques to assist the overall research framework
- To develop and maintain quantitative models for nowcasting, forecasting and simulation to provide logical backing for analysis and insights
- Assist in reports production by presenting and summarizing data for enhancing the quality and presentation of the reports
- To assist/where applicable lead the designing of surveys and developing lead indicators to build forward-looking frameworks
